To culminate our time in SF, we spent a whole day wandering Golden Gate Park. My mom blabbed on and on about this one time when she went to Berkeley, she only got a few minutes into the park when it got dark and so she had turn around....as a result, I was dragged from city side to beach end in an effort to see it all.
I made some new friends riding the dragon in the children's park while dad braved the homeless quarter to retrieve his kite.
swinging! if only i was old enough to ride the cardboard-sled slide or the carousel
happy as a clam outside the california academy of sciences
strapped on to dad at stow lake.
(yes i got many awkward stares from urbanite mothers wondering why i was in the ergo backwards and yes my dad continued to carry me this way anyways because i like to see the world, but whew, felt like i had been riding a horse for hours.)
i deny this evidence.
(i was only testing whether the pine needles were pointy and was otherwise well behaved and ate no roughage while mom and dad enjoyed the fog and panoramic view of the city from the top of the waterfall.)
i was so sleepy at the end of the day. i missed seeing the windmills and buffalos while i snoozed.
now that i've been to golden gate in SF, the wee parks of SD aren't quite the same. but they've all got swings, so life is good.
